LOCATION
One Pochick is tucked away down a private lane on the south shore of Nantucket in Surfside. It’s close enough to town you can hear the ferry whistle (2.7 miles (e.g., 15 minutes by bike on paved path)), provides quick access to mid-island food shopping (e.g., Nantucket Meat & Fish Market and Stop & Shop) (2 miles (ten minutes by bike on paved path)) and is ideally situated among several of Nantucket’s best ocean beaches (<5 minutes by bike).
Surfside Beach is walkable and a great spot for families and food during the season with The Surf beach stand offering breakfast, lunch and dinner on ocean view picnic tables. Even less populated south shore beaches are easily accessible by bike or car west of Surfside Beach (e.g., Stones Beach, Fisherman’s Beach and Nobadeer Beach, where surf lessons are offered). Miacomet Beaches are accessible from on-property foot/bike trails to the east. The trails to Miacomet also provide beautiful and scantly populated running trail options accessible direct from the property. A quiet walk south from the property through wooded trails and over the moors brings you to a group of secluded ocean beaches in ten minutes. These beaches can feel like your private ocean oasis, offering peace and quiet even at the height of summer.
The island’s great system of bike paths make it easy to travel further afield and all around the island from paved paths on Surfside Road or South Shore Road, which is accessible from the property through wooded trails in the adjacent conservation land.
The estate offers a serene sense of privacy and emersion into the natural sights and sounds of Nantucket. The compound’s location is right where you’d want to be and offers a home base with exclusive privacy.
